IBC Eureka extends the second model of the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol to offer quick and inexpensive connections between Ethereum and Cosmos, utilizing the Cosmos Hub to assist IBC routing. Ethereum is now the primary non-Cosmos community to hitch the IBC ecosystem. Eureka builders plan so as to add networks like Solana, Base, and Arbitrum sooner or later.
The system is designed to cut back transmission prices, together with fuel and relay charges, from Ethereum to Cosmos to lower than $1. In accordance with Barry Plunkett, co-CEO of Interchain Labs, IBC Eureka represents a dramatic enchancment in safety and programmability for cross-chain communication. It will enable Ethereum and Cosmos builders to construct a brand new class of functions that mix liquidity and protocols which have traditionally been fragmented throughout a number of chains.
Among the many first tasks to be included within the Eureka IBC are the decentralized alternate dYdX, the real-asset-focused L1 blockchain MANTRA, the Bitcoin Lombard liquid staking protocol, and the Bitcoin Babylon staking protocol.
